Echuu was a Jedi Master during the rise of Emperor Palpatine and the Jedi Purge. Attempting to escape death at the hands of the Emperor and his minion, Darth Vader, Echuu relocated and hid on the planet of Krant. Although Echuu did escape the clutches of the Emperor, the planet of Krant eventually came under Imperial control. During the time of Imperial domination on Krant, Echuu was discovered by Leia Organa who also was working to free the planet from the control of the Empire.

However, aside from the fact that Echuu was a Jedi, there was another reason he had to fear the Emperor. In his possession, Echuu held an ancient Jedi artifact, known as the Vor'Na'Tu. This ancient artifact was desired by the Emperor, and to prevent it from falling into the hands of the Emperor, Echuu was forced to destroy the artifact. It is unknown whatever happened to Echuu after his occupation on Krant, but it is most likely that he was eventually hunted down by the Emperor and Darth Vader and killed, becoming one with the Force.
